Leilani sings Haensel und Gretel

Haensel und Gretel is uncut, the only thing she leaves out the part about the kids pushing the witch into the oven, and restarts it at “The witch had to roast, the children go home…” I think she left it out on purpose, but I am not sure.

Right at the end she sings “Puff the magic dragon”

Yesterday Andy and I got into a heated discussion. Before it turned into a fight, Leilani walked into the room, took, my hand and said: “Mommy, you are getting too excited. Let’s go in the garden.” We went outside and she switched to German, – full sentences, nice grammer and great pronunciation. It always makes me happy when she speaks German, and I suppose she knows that. She proceeded to look for a “beautiful flower bouquet”, that she had picked and that – she was sure of that – would make me feel happy again. We really did find it, and played a few more minutes outside.

Then I explained to her that I was calm now and needed to go back in, to finish talking to her daddy, and invited her when someone got too “excited” again, to come and interrupt once more. She went to her room and played quietly, and Andy and I sat in the living room. Things started to heat up again, and Leilani walked out to get her stuffed otter, which she brought to Andy: “Here daddy, you can cuddle the Otter, then you will feel happy again” I then got a stuffed bunny. It really worked. You can not feel unhappy while cuddling an otter/bunny and being proud of your daughter :-)
