Riding lesson with Julia

Mixed Photos Summer 11

Or did I use that title already? I gave up trying to straighten out the blogmess, but at least I am catching up with posting…

I think Leilani took these photos, but they are cropped and worked on…

Leilani decided to sell her farm on craigslist (or at lest to let mommy do it), but she wanted $50 for it, by now I talked her down to 30… I guess I’ll try and see.

Very spontaneously Leilani and I decided to hike Nounou, before breakfast and without water. We did not make it to the top, but way past the rocks. We had lilikoi against the thirst, and had Andy pick us up at the trailhead

We went on a date and kayaked at the harbor

Leilani got to big for the carseat and is in a booster now (pink with flowers)

Just for comparison – April 2006, same seat, same person
5m-catbook

I bought her a bike, but she still can’t ride it.

There is a beautiful Rainbow Shower Tree at the park

Leilani takes swimming lessons now and is getting pretty good

Oliver’s Photos

Leilani let Oliver have the camera, and he took photos of her:

County Fair 2011

Thursday Leilani went to the Fair with Laura, and when we picked her up we stayed a few minutes:

Friday I took the 2 girls again:

Sandcastle Contest 2011 in Hanalei

The crowds were unbelievable – I had never seen Hanalei that busy

Julian had talked us into participating just the previous night – without much of a plan we started:

When it looked a bit plain we started dribbling it with sand and water, we thought it looked really cool.

Many children stopped to tell us they thought we had made the best castle on the beach.

Finishing touches

Unfortunately most adults either thought it was creepy or overlooked it completely… To us it was beautiful.

Leilani built her own minicastle

I was very proud of the moat, and it can’t be seen on any other photo

The competition made great things too:

but many more and better photos of these are on this facebook page

Our friend Julian was one of the organizers

Eventually the crowds went home
