Day: May 9, 2013

Bay Area, May, Last Year

And once more I post year-old photos…

We Saw The Eclipse

Dave had built an eclipse-viewing-device

That’s what it projected

The regular shadows were really cool…

Sonja got bored, wandered off and found flowering bushes…

We went on a field-trip to the Millbrae Fire Fighters with MNS

Liselle

Who can demonstrate stop-drop-roll?

Afterwards a few friends met at the park

Visiting Narnia and meeting her bunny

Exploratorium, May Last Year

We went to the Exploratorium twice in a row, first with Jay

They were supposed to stand a certain way and pretend to hold the hands of people who photographed themselves in the same spot… but they acted like 6-year-olds :-)

Leilani loved to shadow-dance

… but was just as happy to join Jay’s shadow fight

One interesting thing we saw there has a link on the Exploratoriums website “Ladle Rat Rotten Hut
We saw the cute squirrel at our hosts home (Ana, Jeanne and Dave)

And the next time around I forgot my camera. I only used the iphone outside…

In the late afternoon we visited Kelby and Belen and their parents

Disney Land, May, Last Year

We had to go to the Austrian Consulate in LA to renew my passport – we stayed overnight and got a 2-day pass for Disneyland…

I forgot my camera the first day… and did not win the great-iphone-photographer-award

…or even the never-misses-the-target award

not again… aim… focus…

That was not me. She ducked.

Seeing my comment made Leilani comment. She first talked to me about it, and I must have said something like “Well I guess it’s because you are small…how about you leave a comment on the blog” I helped her to get started, and then she wrote :” I am not small . I did not duck . I just leaning into the curve!”
Next day I brought the camera. Everything got better…

Grover Hot Springs, May, Last Year

We stopped on a mointain pass for a few flakes of snow

We went to sit in the hot springs, and the next morning we found this ice-sculpture – our frozen bating suits

If there are bears we better be safe…

We went hiking

Phlox (I think)

Snowplant (I know)

Robin (and of all of them this one I like :-)

Hiking again

Bye Bay Area!
