Children of the Land, Gaylord Luau, and Happy Sign

July photos… that was a busy summer

We were invited to the luau at Gaylords by Uncle Phil, who is the main drummer in their show. He also has a booth and sells Polynesian instruments and crafts.

The big anchor in front of Gaylords is always fun to play on

Angel moved to Oahu, that was one of the last times we saw her.

The kids tried out the nose flutes.

Andy and I wend for a walk at Kealia and found the Happy sign. Andy restored and photographed it

We walked around on the KCC campus

That was during the Children of the Land Summercamp Show and Luau

I am re-posting the video here:

Leilani’s iPad Art May, June 2014

Lots of creative photography, kaleidoscopes and selfies… but also some emerging photo-editing and mad-libs (funny stories, created by an app, a game, or on a paper-pad)

More Old Photos

I found these from June:

Sometimes we have pretty sunsets too…

About the American Public’s Views on Human Evolution

This is scary. And it justifies my decision to home school. 1/3 of all Americans deny evolution. I suppose it’s the pro-GMO crowd…

evolution2013-1 According to a new Pew Research Center analysis, six-in-ten Americans (60%) say that “humans and other living things have evolved over time,” while a third (33%) reject the idea of evolution, saying that “humans and other living things have existed in their present form since the beginning of time.”
evolution2013-2 The survey was conducted on landlines and cellphones in all 50 U.S. states and the District of Columbia, 1,983 adults, ages 18 and older. The margin of sampling error is +/- 3.0 percentage points.

And semi-unrelated… the Christians are now suing the San Diego school district to drop the yoga classes for the students (yoga is rooted in Hinduism I suppose)
