Tracht – Traditional Clothes

A group of people wear clothes of centuries past – not just the Dirndlkleid and Lederhosen which was more the country fashion, but urban and wealthy people’s clothes too. Some are restored museum pieces, some are recreated from old sewing patterns:

Hike from Bad Aussee to Grundelsee

After the car parade followed a boat corset – in between was a beautiful 4 km hike:

Narzissenfest (Paperwhite Festival) – the Parade

The way Leilani’s hair stayed in place was remarkable, and the woman next to us really reminded me of my grandma

Narzissenfest (Paperwhite Festival) – the Parade Floats

After 3 practice braids I felt ready to braid Leilani’s hair, not quite traditionally, but still neat and orderly.

Before the actual parade they displayed the floats, made mainly from paperwhites in Bad Aussee. Some of the floats took 100,000 or more flowers.

The bands were on display too

Hike to the Hugo-von-Hofmannsthal-Linde (Linden tree)

We started at the Gradieranlage which is a place that concentrates the “Sole” (brine) by pumping it up and evaporating it over pine twigs. Smells good and is very healthy for the lungs and entire breathing system.
