Women’s March

On January 21, over 5 Million world-wide came to march, speak and make our voices heard. #Resist

Kuilau Trail

At Home, late Winter 17

We watched Wyland paint his new mural

We rarely get such nice sunset colors here (our sunrises are usually spectacular though, but in the other direction)

I could not decide which colors I liked better

The dogs like people on the daybed, so they can cuddle…

Jahi likes to be under the covers

Is that called hard light?

Our new Hi-Tech solar cooker has disappointing performance unless it’s getting some extra reflections. All in all we did manage to cook a pretty sophisticated meal though, I remember beans, chicken and probably rice and veggies…

We had strong winds blowing all kinds of ocean critters on to the east shore… Leilani and I picked up a bucket full and kept them overnight dog and cat safe in our bedroom, and let them sail south the next day when we were at the south shore. Blue Sea Dragon (Glaucus atlanticus), Violet Sea Snail

This is the African Violet that grew from a leaf from Jim’s plant

We made bread

Arriving home 1/17

The first full day at home Leilani’s cast was changed to an elbow cast, and as soon as we left the hospital we found Tiny running panicky on Rice Street. We caught her and tried to find her owner, got into troubles with some homeless who claimed they owned her but did not want her anymore as soon as the Humane Society had her… I got her back after she was spayed and vaccinated and found her a good home…

We barely fit on the couch anymore

Leilani’s self made dress is her absolute favorite

The old Wyland murals in Kapaa by the old Papayas and Safeway were about to be removed, and hopefully this one will be repainted too (the other one was just a week after this photo was taken)

Jahi, the elegant cat.

And then there is Bennu

Leilani and I stamped beachtile pieces and she colored them in and they are actually selling nicely at the Kauai Store.

Andy picked papayas on the garage roof and liked the solar view

We went back to an old campsite and walked on the beach near Kitchens (surf spot)
