Kolea

Hawaiian Stilt

Heron

Nene

Coot or Alea Ula

Leilani had not taken an excelent photo in a while, but this one made me realize she should really have her own camera…

No discriminating agains the ducks either. I even photographed the Mynah birds, but the photo did not turn out…

Fern Grotto and Smith’s Luau

Rosemary and Jeanne joined Jim and stayed in our apartment for a week. One of the outings started at Fern Grotto.

We all fed the birds, the peacocks bit…

Leilani danced the Hukilau

They photographed most of the family, but I got there late.

Naia’s Birthday Beach Outing

Leilani was invited to a sleepover, and Sunday everyone met at the beach for fun in the sun

Just before the dogs ran away and really scared us by crossing the road and disappearing in unknown forest. They were gone for over 10 minutes

An added bonus – we met Richard who adopted Tiny and renamed her to Coco. I drove her to Kilauea the next morning.

Wai Koa again…

we went back with Jim

Early February 2016

The Ala loa, the long trail around the island is being closed in many locations by private landowners who don’t know about it or don’t respect the ancient traditions of Hawaii, here we were at Facebook’s Zuckerberg’s property joining the Hawaiians who demand the trail to be reopened.

just a really nice garden next to Zuckerberg’s land

Zuckerberg’s wall is another contented issue, to us it looks nice and tasteful, they even curved it around coconut trees but lots of people claim it is too high and obstructs ocean views or is an eyesore…

Jim was the first to arrive on Kauai, a week later Rosemary and Jeanne joined him

There are 2 kinds of crab hunters:
