Many chairs many purposes

Uncategorized

-or-

you have no idea how dangerous chairs can be

There are many different chairs and every one has a different purpose. One chair should not be used instead of a chair designated

Lawn chairs

usually stand outside on Decks Patios and well Lawns. They are mostly made to be cheap out-door chairs made of plastic and/or metal. The factories also try to make the lawn chairs foldable so they can be easily carried inside and take up small storage space. you should not use a chair with wood, pillows or both if these items get damp they can rot or get moldy, and if the wood of the chair rots it can be a hazard to sit or stand on it.

Office chairs

These adjustable chairs are mainly used in offices, some of there main characteristics are:  They  are Adjustable! they are comfortable!! They SPIN!!!!! but don’t get to carried away with the spinning you can fly off the chair and get seriously injured, I learned that the hard way.?

Piano chairs

These chairs are unsafe to stand on, they are not made for that purpose because of there long shape they aren’t very stable.

Lounge chairs

Lounge chairs are made for relaxing and are usually low to the ground but you shouldn’t put to much weight on one side or the other because they aren’t very heavy and can easily tip. They also usually have pillows to sit on.

Swivel chairs ?of Doom?

We all probably know what happens. You’r sitting on the chair spinning, you get a little carried away and the next thing you know you are flying through the air. Or you simply really need to put that book on the high shelf so you just stand up and then all of a sudden  the chair is out from under your feet.

Yep swivel chairs are really that dangerous especially the little circular  plastic kind, and no I am not over exaggerating.

Stools and bar chairs

these narrow and tall forms of chairs with often no back rest are dangerous in there own way. If they are in a row and one tips over they will ”domino chain” meaning the first one falls over pushing the second one wich pushes the third one and so on. luckily when people sit on them it is not so likely to happen.

I am not trying to say that chairs are bad chairs are actually really good, you just have to use them correctly. If you aren’t sure a chair is safe try to find another chair.

Sonja adds: Leilani was supposed to write an essay on “Safety and Chairs” after she put her piano chair out the living room window on the carport roof and climbed the house roof… and I’m hoping my mom does not read this and then talk about roof and climbing karma… … and we have not corrected the spelling yet… and the essay on “SAFETY and chairs” is going to be posted soon.

Harvest from our yard when we came home from our Christmas trip

Julie is a lap-dog?

We found a dog on a hike and it had a phone number on the collar, so we called the owner. Waiting at the arboretum.

A historic photo. The crossing has been washed out in the recent storms. Good thing they built the bridge…

Julie found something in the bushes picked it up and threw it in the surf, watching it excitedly. Andy went to check and found it was a tiny chick. He picked it up, scolded Julie and dried it under his coat. It was a really cold day, getting dark and the mother hen was nowhere to be found. We made the decision to take it home and try to return it in the morning, but didn’t expect it to live. The next morning it did not just live, it had also imprinted on me and Leilani, and wanted to be held all the time. Leilani named it June, hoping it was a hen.

Preparation for Valentine’s Crafts at the Makerspace

Was not fun waking up to this. We took it seriously for 15 minutes.

June the chick – who later turned out to be Hehe the rooster.

June loved my hair. Probably the only one in the universe to feel like that.

Due to my injured ankle I had lots of time for June

So June would not be all alone we got two laying hens. May and Augi, who later also turned out to be a rooster…

Julie is obsessed with the chicks

Speaking of Julie…

I could not go to Oahu with Andy and Leilani, and need them to post some pictures here.

Andy got a trailer!

Ominous clouds – it was the rainiest time in decades, historic flooding in Hanalei, and 2 inches of water in our garage / craftsroom.

First day of valentine’s crafts at the makerspace

Another attempt of getting the chargers fixed.

I don’t often post selfies…

Hehe has grown quite a bit in a month.
