<\/p>\n It was still green and full of flowers (though no “carpets” of flowers to be seen). We called this the “heart flower” because the petals are heart shaped:

The air was clear with great views across the Bay to Mt Diablo:

And down the Marin headlands to San Francisco:

It was windy and chilly, however. The wind made waves in the grasses and we all enjoyed watching them.

It was a narrow trail on a steep slope, but Leilani hiked confidently, sometimes leading us by her own initiative:
