We are not quite sure why she picked that word. I often used the German word “essen” – to eat, when talking to her, especially when I want her to eat rather than play and look around or fall asleep, or telling her I am going to feed her. Since she can not say “s” yet, maybe she just takes the ending of the word “en” and keeps repeating it. Or maybe she just said it coincidentially once before I fed her, and she figured if it worked once it might work again…<\/p>\n
Booboobooboo(…) means “I am upset” most the time and is often mixed with Dldldl. Her voice also gets a very shrill urgent tone if she is upset, and before she really cries there is often a very high pitched sqeaking, that sends parents scrambeling to fix the situation. When she is happy she also produces some pretty shrill sounds, but these have more of a singing quality. Andy learned to say “Nicht quitschen” – “Do not sqeak.”<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
Andy and I hope to hear real words – preferrably Daddy and Mommy, we have heard Dadadada often, but it does not seem to refer to Andy, and the M sound does not yet come in combinations with vowels.
