Klaus has 10 hives now and it’s hard to imagine a more idilic setting for bees.

Leilani was very interested, and really enjoyed helping with the smoker

Sadly 2 queens were missing, here they are looking for one of them.

Klaus helped Lilith and Leilani to setup the play mobile pyramid

The first evening we had a campfire. It was really nice, even after the great dinner we had had before the girls wanted to cook foil-wrapped potatoes, they tasted really good.

They spent a lot of time playing electronic legos (mind craft like games)

I could not get the whole waterfall into one picture, but it was a beautiful as ever

The weather was weird all vacation long. While it triggered climate-fears in me, it also made for very dramatic skies in my pictures

Inge made great meals for us, every time but the raclette was the only one I photographed.

Flowers and plants (and mushrooms) in meadows and fields and forests are just beautiful…

On Andy’s last day, after he was finished packing, we went to see Jutta and her horses again. Before we left, Andy noticed how beautiful the bushes in my mom’s driveway were.

The bumble bee liked them too…

There was a second foal born since we were there last week (and two or more pregnant mares ready to give birth), but it’s mother kept it away from us.

Mäxchen, however, likes people and is the cutest foal ever…

And he really likes to be scratched…

We’re cute and we like to be scratched too (I bet they have to put up with this foals-are-so-cute thing every year):

The mother did not mind at all. Almost seemed happy someone kept her foal busy for a while.

The other horses like attention too:

But not as much as the foal:

When we went back to the main corral, all the yearlings came over to greet Leilani:

On the way home we saw this beautiful meadow…

And couldn’t resist picking a bouquet–Andy had some pretty memories to take home:
