Leilani’s Art at the Garden

We had nobody to watch Leilani, so she came along for the later part of my gardening class. She took off with the iPhone. Her photos are different now…

She picked this leaf off a pigeon pea, took a few photos, pot it into her hair, posed and demanded her photo to be taken, Then she photographed it one last time and moved on

Nounou hike and at home

I paid $800 for power washing (to the same person that had painted latex over oil, if you’re on Kauai ask me who not to hire) and had to redo quite a bit of it. Fortunately a friend loaned me the power washer.

All from our trees

Family Visiting

Thanks Jim, for taking these photos. Rather than sorting them in with the individual blog posts I decided to make it’s own post from most of them.

…and I found some more among our photos that fit right in:

Walking Field Trip to the Master Gardeners Garden

Right between the (sustainable) KCC Market Garden and the former community garden is the Master Gardeners Garden. Lots of black plastic instead of mulch and rumor has it they use roundup and worse. But they were really nice to the kids, they got to harvest – and keep – beans:

And carrots:

We made beam salad with Kernoel and Leilani ate most of the carrots raw.
