Children of the Land Summercamp

Fire dancing with poi balls and the fire knife, singing, chanting and dancing hula, haka and Tahitian – what fun! During the camp they also learned instruments, drums, nose flute and ukulele which they demonstrate at the hoike and luau as well.
Of course they also practiced other Polynesian arts for example planting kalo (taro) and identifying native and canoe plants, and Polynesian fun like hiking, swimming and relaxing at the beach and riverside. The children learned a few words Hawaiian and Tahitian, a few songs and chants, and created beautiful drawings and other art. They visited a farm, the humane society and several tourist attractions and parks. Leilani loved the camp!
