At Oma’s

Kia has a nest

Edith and Ingo and Hanlore visited

Leilani made a beautiful watercolor painting for Oma and Opa

Leilani, upon see in the current fashion of traditional Austrian clothing really wanted a “Dirndlkleid”. Since the whole outfit of a cheap brand would cost about $130 I refused, but Leilani begged to go to the flea market. Sure enough there was one children’s Dirndlkleid there (exactly one). Her size and a great brand and 20 Euros… And Sonja looks at the fashion and sees a connection to the cheering and applause for the 150-year-dead emperor (or an actor impersonating him) and the world wide globalization backlash… (but I did get a Dirndelkleid myself nevertheless… the first since I was 4)

Equestrian Vaulting

We saw Alex and her horses several times, Leilani got to practice vaulting on “Nice” a beautiful and strong Haflinger. She also cantered for the first time in her life.

Raabklamm

We hiked along the Raabklamm with Thomas and his older daughter Linda.

We hiked to the tiny village of Arzberg

and went to the restaurant Gasthaus zur Raabklamm “Forellenhof“. The trout was outstanding, as was the entire meal.

Linda gave Leilani a leaf to use as fairy hat, but it turned into a bandana

I picked her a new one and the little fairy hiked on happily

It was about 8 miles, and the last little bit was steep and hot… Leilani lagged behind and complained quite a bit the last 1/4 mile.

She got happy again when we talked about ice-cream.
