3 Boat Day

Last weekend Andy and Leilani went out on 3 boats… Sonja made only 2 :-)

January

Leilani got a science kit for Christmas. She was about to start experimenting with the red play dough and showed it to her friend, I overheard:
Leilani: “At first I was hoping it was dynamite.”
Sierra: “What? Why?”
Leilani: “You know, we could do fun things, like, explode stuff…”

It’s blurry, but according to Leilani it’s the perfect wave.

We went kayaking yesterday morning, and saw whales. That last one was much closer than it looks on the photo…

Austin: Wild Basin Hike

Every time we go to Austin, we find somewhere new to hike. This time it’s the Wild Basin Preserve, and as a bonus, it also has a pretty little waterfall. Another bonus was that it was a beautiful sunny day.

Leilani wore Sonja’s big sunglasses, and we joked that it made her look like some Hollywood starlet:

There were even a few lonely wildflowers despite the recent cold weather:

The falls were pretty but hard to see or get a good photo:

The low winter light mad pretty patterns in the stream and ripples:

A little bit further, we found a nice rock to sit on with the only good view of the waterfall:
