Leilani reached the end of the road! We had been going further and further – Anahola, Kilauea, Anini, Lumahai, and last weekend (July 22/23) finally reached Haena and Ke’e.

Yikes. No, it was only beets. And Leilani ate an entire beet in one sitting!
And how did she chew it?
Leilani got a chimpanzee and a dolphin puppet. She is fascinated by them, especially when they move “on ther own”. We named the dolphin Flipper, and the ape Judy (from the 60s series Daktari… I date myself now, but to my defense I got to say they aired it later in Austria, at that time it took them 10 years to figure out it was a good show and to translate it… )

Leilani is eating much better by now, only getting real messy when she tries to feed herself, but in the beginnig – 6 to 8 weeks ago the food went all over her face, the chair, and sometimes the floor…
No, that’s not Leilani. We would not have let George W. hold her. But we like to think that would have been her reaction to him as well!
