Bled 2

Picking up Ella, Shay and Ayelet at the Old Parish House and visiting the church:

Feeding the ducks at the lake

Bled 1

While walking to meet Ella and her parnts Leilani wrapped and decorated a gift for her friend

The next morning: We stayed at “The Yellow House on Oak Street” a beautifully rustic 100 year old building

Pizza for breakfast:

Walk to Bled

Father’s Day at Buschenschank Sax

People on Facebook commented that this was a very American looking sandwich… Leilani did share it though :-)

Leilani did not want to have another picture taken and just wanted to eat her sandwich.

And just because I don’t want to have too many blogposts:

The rest of the week…

Mushrooms are still going strong

…and that’s even older… Kathi had just thrown Leilani into the pool, clothes and all. Good thing kids don’t have iphones in their pockets yet. I followed them around and filmed for a while hoping for some good revenge, but that photo is the best I got…

Leilani and Kathi in front of their school, BG und BRG Weiz, short fro Bundesgymnasium und Bundesrealgymnasium Weiz

When I get to the gym early it’s hard to park a bike… (I did find a space though)

And more mushrooms: The ones I have not described in other posts are Roter Speisetäubling (the red russola on the left that we did not eat in the end because it looked too much like a Speitäubling) Chantrelle way at the right, Rotkappe – Leccinum versipelle – Birch bolete in the middle orange cap and white stem with black speckles, Edelreizker – Lactarius deliciosus – safron milk cap is the orange one right top with some bue-greenish bruises on the stipe. And not visible because Leilani packed them in leaves are Eispilze – cat’s tounge – Pseudohydnum gelatinosum..

Gleisdorf 2018 – Forests and Mushrooms

Spot the human:

Perlpilz – Blusher – Amanita rubenscens. And tasty…

I don’t even know these, the stump just looked pretty with all the little mushrooms

Steinpilz or Herrenpilz – Boletus edulis. Even tastier

Baden with Kathi im Hierzerteich in Dirnreith near St Margrethen. In the 90s I rented a house nearby, and often walked here whit my dog Schiva.

Mostly Täublinge – Russula sp. (mainly cyanoxantha – Frauentäubling) a few Perlpilze, Maronenröhrlinge and one Steinpilz

This is how the russulas and amanitas look cooking

These are boleti (if that’s the plural, otherwise maybe just king mushrooms) and one left over russula

Visiting Jutta and her Horses

“Plato” is just a few days old and friendly, like “Mäxchen” a few years ago…

That’s him

Leilani laid down in the middle of the horses and took pictures…

Eventually I realized Leilani made for an even better subject and took the camera to take pictures of her.

This one was just a day old, still unnamed and shy.

Jutta has beautiful flowers.

I think it’s a Feverfew cultivar, Mutterkraut, for sure a closely related Tanacetum species

Großer Kohlweißling (Pieris brassicae), large white cabbage butterfly on lavender, Lavendel, Lavandula angustifolia

“Love-in-a-Mist” or “Jungfer im Grünen” (Nigella damascena) not Echter Schwarzkümmel (but closely related)
