Freeing Gecko from Glue Trap

Once we could not control our cockroaches any other way and set glue traps throughout the house. Every morning I checked them and one of us killed the caught roaches so they would not suffer for days. One morning Leilani and I discovered geckos in 2 of them. Andy was in California and I nearly had a nervous breakdown, as I really like the geckos and I figured I’d have to kill them.

Fortunately the glue dissolves in olive oil, so with oil, a paint brush and a lot of patience Leilani and I saved both geckos.

We only started photographing once the first one was saved, but this is the other one…

And Leilani had to get her iPad for this photo…

Leilani Reads “The Little Mermaid”

Leilani did finish her librivox recording. It is over one hour long, and the original fairytale by Hans Christian Anderson. Please listen to it when you have time, and tell us what you think. (Especially if you can’t play the audio below at all…)
And sorry for the size and loadtime, I compressed it as much as I could, but it still requires patience… I was thinking of putting it on a linked page but then thought nobody would see / hear it that way.

It is cleaned up and pre-edited, but not filtered and has pretty strong differences in volume, so it is not ready for publishing. I kind of know which filters to apply, but I have never done any audio editing before and fear I won’t be good at it because of my auditory troubles.
