Late September 2011

We visited Kerrie on her very beautiful land. Maybe she will start a school here.

Best starfruit ever. And we eat a lot of them.

We went to Tunnels beach with Julian. Sadly we did not take any photos of people. The beach was really pretty…

And there was a monk seal. Sonja had to yell at tourists who approached it.

We then went to the Blue Room for a quick swimm

Luggage

Leilani’s second to last school day was a field trip to Fern Grotto
With her buddy Brianna

Leilani was sad for a while, there were many aspects of the school she didn’t like, but she also enjoyed all the enrichments and the social life there. I go back and forth between thinking I made the right decision and questioning myself….

Walking back to the boat

Early September

Boy I’m far behind, and the blog is a chaos. The good news is I’m catching up….

Lunch at the beach

Leilani is getting acupuncture treatments to help with her food sensitivities.

When all the needles are in Leilani sometimes falls asleep, deep enough that I can carry her to the car and drive her home afterwards

We went to a seed exchange and brought a lot of plants. We barely had room foe Leilani…

That’s how the stuff looked there. We arrived early, later all these tables were filled

I volunteered…

The crowds were huge.

Later we went to Kalihiwai beach, where we had gotten married married 7 years ago.

Anini, August 2011

One of the last weekends before school started we went camping at Anini

We saw a lot of wildlife. This is an Iwa, a Fregatte Bird. I actually got a lot of photos of it, one of it carrying a fish, but this is the best photo of the bird.

Verbena

The views were awesome

Sunscreen up:

Leilani found jewelery right there at the beach

Nene

Ohio, Summer 11

Andy and Leilani spent a week in Ohio a few months ago, I think I never got around to posting the video. Andy promised to do the photos soon

Our Garden

A few weeks after we arrived the orchids began to bloom, and have not stopped since

Royal Poinsiana

When we moved in there was a small wild avocado tree. Experienced gardeners told me to cut it down and plant a “good one” in it’s place. They said wild avos never have big fruit, but big seeds, and sometimes are bitter. The tree was so pretty and I couldn’t cut it down… While we were in CA we already saw it had big and good fruits, but this year it has (had) about 200 avocados, they are still not ripe, but I keep picking them, and after about 10 days they ripen, we eat at least one a day, and can’t wait for the tree-ripened ones. Oh, and I weighed a few that I picked… none under 300g some were close to a pound!

Plumeria

Bananas coming up soon…

I think it’s a collard green. I got it as a cabbage and it took me a long time to realize it would never make a head…

Croutons

Prince Kuhio Vines now cover front and back fence

And we all love our lime tree
