Our Garden

A few weeks after we arrived the orchids began to bloom, and have not stopped since

Royal Poinsiana

When we moved in there was a small wild avocado tree. Experienced gardeners told me to cut it down and plant a “good one” in it’s place. They said wild avos never have big fruit, but big seeds, and sometimes are bitter. The tree was so pretty and I couldn’t cut it down… While we were in CA we already saw it had big and good fruits, but this year it has (had) about 200 avocados, they are still not ripe, but I keep picking them, and after about 10 days they ripen, we eat at least one a day, and can’t wait for the tree-ripened ones. Oh, and I weighed a few that I picked… none under 300g some were close to a pound!

Plumeria

Bananas coming up soon…

I think it’s a collard green. I got it as a cabbage and it took me a long time to realize it would never make a head…

Croutons

Prince Kuhio Vines now cover front and back fence

And we all love our lime tree
