I remembered I had seen that pose before… 4 years ago for the first time
It was so warm and dry, we had slept without the rainfly

Hiking Out
Ana and Sophia are Leilani’s new friends
Clarkia Anemona – “Farewell to Spring” is one of my favorite flowers. Even more of them on this post
Leilani and Ana playing in the tent
Beautiful foxglove growing at our campsite. I was actually impressed with the number of really toxic herbs growing there – poison hemlock, digitalis, 2 kinds of nightshade and a few others less deadly ones
Hiking was slow, breaks were many, but everyone had lots of fun
Andy calls them Lyfs
Blackberries on the way out
Looking back
Well maybe I was not current. Current except for the forgotten blogposts. Anyway… I found these…
In July we went backpacking in Alder Camp, off Waddell beach, part of the Big Bassin State Park Leilani played at the trailhead while we got ready
This butterfly – one of many seen at the stream crossing – is called a Mourning Cloak
Just when we had put up our tent 2 families with hirls Leilani’s age showed up. Instantly they started playing together
Everybody had brought a book, so there were a lot of goodnight stories
I finally took Leilani to see Wicked. And Sophia came along. We took BART to avoid parking nightmares and because kids love public transportation
Later we went to a playground nearby
